Library Games Night
Member of this library outreach committee 2018 to present
Created an award-winning marketing campaign for our library outreach event of tabletop gaming evenings held for our university community. As a former newspaper designer I enjoyed the opportunity to create eye-catching, mixed-reality illustrations that were a winner in the 2022 American Library Association PRXchange marketing competition. I collaborated with Strategic Communications for the release of posters and digital ads. Example graphics from 2022 are above and below.
Established a games testing collaboration with the games and simulation program professors in the Emerging Technologies in Business and Design department. In Fall 22, professors Garrison LeMasters and Tim Demarks both had students from their classes playtest games they created and conduct ethnographic research during Games Night. In addition to networking with faculty to initiate the collaboration, I acted as the primary contact to help fulfill any needs such as any space requirements they needed.
Additional contributions include maintaining the Games Night LibGuide, analyzing results of attendee surveys, and volunteering during each games night event to welcome gamers, training students on game play, and aiding with event setup and cleanup. Participating in additional outreach gaming events such as special gaming sessions for MADE at Miami and Late Night Study Breakfast.
